The Impact of Spiritual Leadership on Employees' Goal Acceptance

Drawing on Self-Determination Theory and Social Exchange Theory, this study investigates the influence mechanism of spiritual leadership on employees' goal acceptance, with a particular focus on the mediating role of organizational commitment and the moderating role of flow experience. 476 employees participated in the survey. We found that spiritual leadership has a significant positive impact on employees’ goal acceptance; organizational commitment plays a partial mediating role in this relationship; flow experience positively moderates the relationship between organizational commitment and goal acceptance. This study furnishing organizations with theoretical underpinnings and actionable insights for fostering employees’ goal identification.
